About Festoon

Up until 2008, our home at Sunny Bank Mills was still functioning as a textiles production mill. We're housed in a building that was formerly known as the drying or shrinking rooms. In here, wool cloth was draped between racks in “festoons” to dry out and shrink to the correct width. The building is now referred to as the Festoon Rooms.
